Jessi Alexander is the manager at Scoopy’s Family Café, a favourite haunt of locals and tourists alike on Queensland’s Bribie Island.

The waterfront café has been a staple on the island for many years, so consequently has had a variety of owners.scoopys

As the current owners, Alexander says their focus is on “fun, family and value for money at our great location”.

The current chef at Scoopy’s started his training in the UK, cooking at a range of places around the world before ending up on Bribie Island.

The menu is reviewed regularly and is built around the value for money/ family meal theme and client base.

Alexander says that choosing local produce is very important to them

“As much produce as possible is sourced from the local Bribie and Caboolture area.

“We change our menu based on what is in season, but every month we have at least one or two specials.”

With ice cream being the hero of Scoopy’s café, it is not surprising they champion Peters, an iconic Australian brand.

Alexander says Peters are currently bringing out a whopping 50 new ice cream flavours to join the 25 existing flavours on offer at Scoopy’s.

“These new flavours will include some sorbets (which Peters haven’t offered before) and some ice creams suitable for people with dietary requirements, such as gluten free or dairy free.”

One of the things Scoopy’s pride themselves on is having super quick service and excellent quality.

“The most popular dishes are our all day bacon and eggs or big breakfast or our works burger (which are too big to get your mouth around!),” says Alexander.

“We have a great Fishermans Basket with cod, barramundi or whiting which are all beautiful!

“Our point of difference is we won’t break the bank! We’re baby and four-legged furry family member friendly and we have something for everyone!”
