Despite the spooky Friday the 13th date, this event was all class; with local wines, beautiful food and even better presentation.
Finesse Catering Group is the brainchild of couple Brad and Roong, both chefs with international experience; Brad has travelled and cooked through America and South East Asia, and Roong who has brought the flavour and flair from her home country Thailand.
The couple set up Finesse Catering Group in January last year, but their knowledge and background shone through on Friday night. We saw beautifully presented canapés of smoked salmon and pork belly dishes, and an amazing tasting station of Thai delights.
The tasting area was flocked to by guests all keen to give everything a go, and have a closer look at the beautiful, edible display of finely carved vegetables like pumpkin, carrots, and cabbages.
The amount of care and attention to detail in something as small as a carved zucchini shows great passion and love for the craft that is catering, service, and ultimately, making people happy.
Finesse Catering Group’s event was a killer example of what they could bring to someone’s next birthday, corporate event, or the pinnacle that is wedding functions. It was relaxed but refined, thoughtful yet effortless and fun while still projecting a level of class.
There should also be a very special mention to the beautiful dessert display! Pairing up with Cakes By Lucy, the desserts were all like bite size morsels of pure joy. From the very now cake pop varieties, to the so-pretty-you-don’t-want-to-eat-it popcorn rocky road, these are dessert options that even those in the most figure-hugging ensembles would go weak for. So of course, we had to try one of everything.
Finess Catering Group’s launch went off without a hitch. The warehouse style venue was the perfect amount of laid back cool that’s required of a Friday night function, the staff were friendly and the food was A+. We can’t wait to see what kind of events lie in the horizon for these guys!
