The masterminds behind Red Spice Road have partnered with PorkStar’s Bacon week.
Red Spice Road, Meat Fish Wine and Burma Lane are getting involved in Aussie Bacon Week, which starts this weekend. They will be showcasing a week of bacon-inspired dishes across each of their restaurants, honouring their Australian pork producers.
Their pork party begins with a culinary crawl around Melbourne’s CBD. Burma Lane is first stop with their bite-sized bacon wrapped enoki mushrooms, snake beans, red pepper and a tart chilli sauce. Next, stroll down to Red Spice Road for salmon with black pepper caramel, bacon & roasted shallots. Now it’s time to move onto Red Spice QV for their kung pao-chicken, bacon, green onion, cashews, Sichuan pepper, chilli & soy. To finish this delicious journey of bacon, wander next door to Meat Fish Wine for a chocolate mousse tart, bacon ice cream, honeycomb and maple jelly.
Meat Fish Wine are also Pork + Pinot on Thursday June 30th. Head Chef Darren Mercaldi has put together a five-course dinner of handcrafted pork dishes, which you can enjoy matched with a variety of white, red and sparkling Pinots. – you will discover it all.
And Red Spice Road are invited to Meat Fish Wine to host the ultimate pork cook-off on Thursday July 28th. Head Chef Darren Mercaldi versus Red Spice Road Executive Chef, John McLeay and guests will decide who is the ‘pork master’.
