The fourth annual Time Out Bar Awards this week was exactly what you dreamed it would be.

Crazy hospo peeps and the general party public coming together to tear it up on a Monday night, celebrating the best of Melbourne’s stellar bar scene. And of course, the draaanks were flowing!

The Corner Hotel rooftop was pumping from 6.30pm with the Aussie comedy Rhys Nicholson hosting with hilarity.

The Best New Bar award went to Loretta’s, a favourite for all Melbournians who love a good American BBQ with their booze.Cherry Bar rained victorious with the coveted Legend Award.

Romeo Lane took home the trophy for Best Cocktail Bar, with owner Joe Jones also taking out Bartender of the Year.

Obviously everyone loves wine, so the Best Wine Bar was a hotly contested category, but Bar Liberty was the worthy winner.

Bar Lûmé won the Best Bar Food award and the party boys and babes at Lazerpig celebrated with the Melbourne’s Best Party Bar award.

Representing for the women was Liana Oster of Bar Americano, who took out the Hot Talent award.

Cherry Bar was an obvious but totally deserving winner of the Legend Award, firmly cementing their undisputed icon status in the Melbourne music and bar scene.

And finally, the People’s Choice Award as voted by Time Out readers went to Freddie Wimpoles, the American-style bar with pool, beer and all the good stuff.

Once the official part of the evening was over, the food, drinks and good times continued to roll which may have meant there were a few tired people at work around Melbourne on Tuesday morning. But if you ask us – worth it!
